Home Buyers Assistance Programs

Houston Home Buyers Assistance

The aspiration of homeownership is shared by many Houston residents, yet it remains elusive for a significant portion of the population. To address this, the City provides financial support of up to $50,000 to qualifying residents.

Through the Homebuyer Assistance Program, the City extends a helping hand to first-time homebuyers residing within its boundaries.

Home Buyer Choice Program

Your residential location holds significance. For numerous Houston residents with low to moderate incomes, the prospect of purchasing an affordable home often constrains their options for neighborhoods. In partnership with the Houston Community Land Trust (HCLT), the City of Houston administers the Homebuyer Choice Program, aiming to render quality homes in every neighborhood within financial reach.

New Homes

The mission of the Large Tract division within the City of Houston's Housing and Community Development (HCD) is to generate fresh opportunities for single-family homeownership across the city. Through financing initiatives, the City aims to construct new mixed-income neighborhoods, expanding accessible homebuyer options for Houston residents across diverse income brackets. The Affordable Home Development Program is presently under the purview of the Single Family division.
